See the machine in person
If possible, see the machine running, in daylight, at the owner's address. Do not send a deposit remotely based on photos alone.
Beware of the deposit/advance trap
A deposit demanded under "there is another buyer" pressure, before you have seen the machine, is a classic scam pattern. Be cautious with sellers who create urgency.
Get an independent inspection
On high-value purchases, an independent inspection reveals hidden engine/transmission/hydraulic faults and protects many times the fee you pay.
Verify the documents
Check the invoice, import/customs documents and that the serial/chassis number matches the one on the machine. Stay away from machines with no papers or mismatched numbers.
Use secure payment
Instead of an upfront wire transfer to an unknown seller, proceed with secure payment (escrow) where possible; the funds are released to the seller after delivery/confirmation.
Keep communication on the platform
Conduct negotiation and agreement on the platform as much as possible; report a suspicious listing with the "Report" button.
